it's deeper than the ocean.

So I thought it was only right to write a blog post on my recent collaboration with La Mer on Blue Heart. I know a lot of you might not understand why and what this means to me. But I wanted to share a special story that would hopefully inspire or move you in different ways. So here it goes...

A year after my biological father passed away years ago I went through a lot of sadness because I think for anyone that looses someone special in their life will know that no matter how many years go by it still hurts, it gets easier over time to bear the pain but you will always miss them. How does this have a connection with the sea? Well, a year after my only gran passed away, so it was tough. But what I decided to do, is write a letter to my dad and gran. I decided to write a letter that expressed how much I love them and how much they mean to me and that this letter would be my final good-bye to them. When I finished the letter I went to the sea with my mom and I released the letter that I had written in my heart at the sea. I remember how much relief I felt after that... the point of my story, is simply this... water is healing. We use water everyday to refresh and rejuvenate. When we feel weak, we take a bath or shower to help us relax, when we feel dehydrated we drink water to replenish us and so this means a lot. If you are going through a tough time or want to get closure but don't know how to, I would advise you to do what I did - it might do a little justice and help you release. Every single I time I go to the sea, I think about memories of those so dear to me. I remember some of the most important times of my life. There is soooo much peace in the beautiful ocean God created for us. Let us take care... of not only of ourselves but the beauty and amazing wonders of the earth. I leave this beautiful poem with you....

I have loved hours at sea, gray cities,
The fragile secret of a flower,
Music, the making of a poem
That gave me heaven for an hour;

First stars above a snowy hill,
Voices of people kindly and wise,
And the great look of love, long hidden,
Found at last in meeting eyes.

I have loved much and been loved deeply --
Oh when my spirit's fire burns low,
Leave me the darkness and the stillness,
I shall be tired and glad to go.

I Have Loved Hours At Sea
