Casual classics - everyone has this classic items in their closet that have been worn once, a few times but somehow they need some replenishment and creativity. Well, when putting together an outfit for my blog post, I thought about and missed mix-and-matching so much, so I decided to pull out some of my favourite classic items and have a play around.

The special thing about buying and investing in some classic items is that they always seem to come back out the closet after months, years or even decades and still manage to make that elegant statement. The little black dress, a turtleneck, comfy cardigan and white sneakers - I am pretty sure everyone has some of these pieces in their closets, right?

I’ve always believed in making something new from something old. Now even though, these pieces are not old they are not very recent buys. I love the fact that this summer dress can be worn in winter by simply wearing a winter turtle-neck underneath. I also wore skin-tone tights (in bintu colour) from ownbrown, which made it a hundred times better to wear shorts, skirts in winter without freezing your butt off. It was the first time, I've finally found tights that matched my skin-tone. They have a range of great skin-tone colour tights for my ethnic sisters at such a reasonable price of £9! FINALLY, right?! The great thing about these tights is no-one can tell that I am wearing tights which is even better.

I encourage you to pull out some classics in your cupboard and be creative to come up with a new outfit. Try dressing down a cute evening dress with a t-shirt underneath and some chic white sneakers for that ultimate causal day outfit.
